Visual Philosophy Open Studios
AUGUST 15, 2020
This year we did things a little differently for Open Studios. Each artist virtually opened their doors for Q&A, studio tours, direct purchasing and demo's! We had two group chats that were facilitated by our Studio Manager Johanne Marion and were really fun! Click the See More Button to visit the artist's webpage.
Jemal Diamond's drawing style comes from the grand tradition of doodling. The smooth, gentle roll of a pen across the pulpy texture of paper is meditative and soothing. It’s the marks we make in the margins while our focused minds are elsewhere I find most interesting.
Nature inspires Julie Bovee's acrylic paintings. Bold and beautiful from a distance, up close her landscapes are a feast for the eyes with their raw, painterly textures and colors.
Lisa Pelgrim is influenced by the Japanese and Hawaiian culture and aesthetics of her upbringing. She creates in both two and three dimensions, often combining materials and techniques.
