In Intersection, artist Kate Deak reflects on her experience during the pandemic as an artist. Both conceptually and literally the pieces play with surface and space contrasts. Mixing media and their application the interactions can seem playful or disruptive depending on the viewer. Each piece contains a narrative constructed with shapes, lines, and textures revealing an interrupted internal journey. Such as when life is altered through paradigm shifting events, either positive or negative, new truths and directions are experienced.

Art for Good Silent Art Auction

Local artists from the Bay Area are putting their artwork up for bid and each piece will benefit a local nonprofit selected by its creator. The silent auction will take place at the Visual Philosophy open studios and Kate Deak’s Intersection art opening event. Participants will silently place bids between the hours of 3:00–5:30 on May 8th. At 6:00pm winners will be determined and walk away with good karma and a piece of amazing art!

Second Saturday and Intersection Opening Reception

On May 8th, 3 - 6 pm

Visual Philosophy artists will open their studio doors to share their process and work with the community.  Artists will be on hand to discuss their work and sell pieces from the very place they are made.

Last Look Closing Reception On May 29th
